The use of Intellectual Property to protect Biodiversity: Collective Marks
This brief article examines the use of collective trademarks and its relationship with the protection of an essential component of biodiversity: Traditional Knowledge (TK). We'll overview the use of Argentine collective marks (MC), which is a new legal instrument for the protection of collective intellectual products and collective rights (of indigenous peoples and communities), with special reference to Genetic Resources, TK and Traditional Cultural Expressions.
