SOCIAL & HUMANITARIAN ACTION

On November 24, 2009 3,000 people were evacuated in the north of our country following heavy rains and strong winds that exceeded 50 km / h. Rain (130 mm) flooded several neighborhoods of Resistancia, where a few days ago had fallen 150 mm. In that capital city 2,000 people were evacuated. Another affected area was the city of Santiago del Estero, Frias and several parts of the province of Entre Rios, on the coast of Rio Uruguay, Concordia, Colón, Federación. In less than an hour 120 mm fell in the city of Santa Fe that was under water as Resistencia. Global climate change is producing a negative impact on our territory, which results in extreme events such as floods or droughts. OBRAR has donated clothing to Chaco and Santa Fe by the time when severe floods struck those Provinces.

The Institution’s charter provides for its participation in all kind of  social and humanitarian action:

  • Cover the basic needs of vulnerable families within social helplessness, to place them in equal conditions of food, health, education and work  access, as the rest of society.
  • Promote individual creativity, solidarity and fraternity as inherent values of the human condition.
  • Implement any initiative targeted towards the enhancement of the quality of life  of the most vulnerable sectors of the population.
